Start — Secure your crypto with a hardware wallet

This guide walks you through unboxing, initializing, and protecting your device so you can safely access crypto apps.

Quick Start — 6 Steps

Follow these steps sequentially. Take your time with the recovery seed — it is the only backup of your funds. Never share it with anyone and never type it into a computer or phone.

1

Unbox & inspect

Open the sealed package and verify tamper-evident seals. Check the device and included accessories for physical damage. If anything looks wrong, contact support before powering on.

2

Power on & connect

Connect the device to your computer using the supplied cable. The device will guide you through basic checks. Only use official apps or recommended interfaces to proceed.

3

Create a new wallet

On the device, choose “Create new” to generate a new private key. The device will generate a recovery phrase — write it down exactly, in order, on the provided recovery card.

4

Secure the recovery phrase

Store the recovery phrase in multiple secure locations (e.g., a safe or encrypted metal backup). Do not take photos or enter it into online forms. Consider using a metal backup for long-term protection against fire or water.

5

Set a PIN and passphrase

Choose a strong PIN on the device to prevent unauthorized use. Optionally enable a passphrase (a 25th word) for an extra layer of security — understand that losing the passphrase means losing access to funds.

6

Connect to apps & verify

Open the official companion application and connect your device. Verify the device fingerprint and first few addresses on-screen before sending or receiving funds. Always confirm transactions on the device, not just in the app.

Safety reminders

  • Never share your recovery phrase. No legitimate service will ever ask for it.
  • Keep firmware updated using the official app; updates include security fixes.
  • Beware of phishing sites and always check the URL before entering sensitive information.
